what inspires you to do art?

“What inspires me the most is the work of self-taught artists. I’ve never attended art classes so artists who are able to grow and improve they’re abilities, despite not having professional training, inspires me to do my best as well.”

When did you start art?

“I started art at the age of 6.”

What did you want your art to do? Meaning did you want it to inspire? Reach on the biggest platform? Etc

“What I love most about art is that it can be interpreted in various ways. depending on the perspective of an individual, an art piece can pretty much be anything you’d like it to be. With that said, when I create art I want it to be open for interpretation. I want to light a spark in the mind of others so they will be inspired to embrace their unique and creative abilities.”

What Are your biggest challenges being an artist?

“My biggest challenge as an artist was learning how to become self-confident about my work and abilities. Growing up I never really took drawing seriously. For the most part, I only drew for my friends (on special occasions) and I did not invest much time in discovering my style or drawing what I truly enjoyed. This pressured me to meet the expectation of others and overtime drawing became more of a chore and less of a passion of mine.

I’ve been working on overcoming this for some time now and I can proudly say that I am happy to be on this journey of owning my skills and flourishing as a self-taught artist.”

How do you feel about art today?

“In my opinion, art today is simply beauty in its purest form. It has a special way of conveying the thoughts, ideas and opinions of others and I admire how individuals from all walks of life can touch each other in a meaningful way with their creative pieces.”
